About Pro Therapist
Compassionate Remedial Massage for
Older Adults on the Sunshine and Fraser Coast
A life long passion for helping others
Hello, I’m Deborah Peaker, owner of Pro Therapist.
From a young age, I was drawn to the healing power of touch. As a child, I’d offer neck and shoulder massages to family and friends, unaware that it would one day become my calling. My mother, who often took us to sing in aged care homes, planted the seeds of deep compassion and respect for older Australians. Years later, as a single mum of two seeking a fulfilling and flexible career, I enrolled in a Diploma of Remedial Massage.
Today, my passion for massage and my heart for older adults come together through Pro Therapist, where I provide mobile remedial massage to seniors in the comfort of their own homes across the Sunshine and Fraser Coasts.
A Trusted Supplier for several Aged Care Providers
In 2022, I was introduced to an Aged Care service provider by a client hoping to use their Home Care Package to fund massage (now Support At Home).
With the support of this service provider, word of mouth spread and I soon found myself supplying remedial massage across multiple locations along the Sunshine and Fraser Coasts.
Demand also grew when several other Aged Care service providers reached out. With the demand being high, Pro Therapist is bringing on new and qualified therapists to help support even more elderly clients, keeping them independent and living in their own homes for longer.
Specialised Care for Older Adults
Remedial massage for elderly clients differs greatly from standard massage therapy. Seniors often present with unique needs such as arthritis, joint stiffness, chronic pain, reduced mobility and underlying health conditions.
Our therapists take time to ensure comfort and safety, adapting pressure, positioning and even using armchairs or beds when traditional massage tables and massage chairs aren’t suitable.
Massage not only supports pain relief and movement but also provides meaningful human connection. For many of our clients, especially those managing isolation, the emotional and social benefits are just as important as the physical ones.
Common Conditions We Support
- Osteoporosis and arthritis
- Cardiovascular conditions
- Post-surgical recovery
- Chronic pain or stiffness
- Emotional challenges such as depression, anxiety, or grief
- Loss of confidence due to mobility concerns
Massage supports circulation, reduces inflammation, lowers stress and helps maintain independence for longer. It’s gentle, non-invasive, and can make a big difference – physically, emotionally, and socially.
Safety First, Always
Working with older adults requires specialised knowledge and care. Every client we see is treated with respect, dignity and personalised attention.
We carry out a thorough intake process and adjust each session for comfort and safety, taking into account medication, pre-existing conditions, skin sensitivity or fragility.
The well-being of our clients is our priority. Whether they’re living with chronic illness, recovering from an injury or simply wanting to feel better in their body, with Pro Therapist, they are in experienced hands.
