We’re always here to support you, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need more information.

What areas do you service on the Sunshine Coast?
We provide mobile and in-home massage services across the Sunshine Coast. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, feel free to get in touch.
Can I use my Home Care Package (HCP) to pay for massage treatments?
What if I'm not on a Home Care Package?
If you’re not yet on a package, you may be eligible. You can apply for an assessment by calling My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visiting myagedcare.gov.au.
What are your prices?
A standard session is 90 minutes, including 60 minutes of hands-on treatment, with all equipment and supplies provided.
Home Care Package Clients: $150.00 / hr * (excl. GST**)
Private Clients: $165.00 flat rate (incl. GST)
*Depending on duration of session, calculated per hour, from arrival to departure.
**For HCP clients, GST is absorbed by the provider and does not reduce your package balance.
As a private client, can I use my health fund rebate for mobile remedial massage treatments?
In some cases, yes. Our therapists hold current provider numbers with major health funds and can issue detailed receipts to support rebate claims. However, not all health funds cover mobile massage services, and rebate eligibility depends on your individual policy. We recommend confirming with your health fund directly. If you’re a private client planning to claim through your health cover, please let Pro Therapist know in advance so we can assist where possible.
What qualifications do you have?
It’s mandatory for our therapists to hold a nationally recognised Diploma of Remedial Massage and be a member of an accredited professional association. We also undergo regular professional development and have received training to work specifically with older adults.
How do you adapt massage therapy for elderly clients?
We use gentle, age-appropriate techniques and flexible setups including armchairs or beds to suit each client’s mobility and comfort. Every session is customised based on individual needs and medical history.
Is massage safe for people over 80 or 90 years old?
Yes, with proper care and communication, massage can be safely adapted for clients of all ages. We always conduct a thorough health check and modify techniques to ensure the highest level of comfort and safety.
What should I expect during my first appointment?
Your first session includes a detailed consultation to discuss your health, medications and goals. We’ll then tailor the treatment accordingly and make sure you feel relaxed and at ease throughout.
How often should I have remedial massage treatments?
It depends on the goals and condition of the client. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others prefer fortnightly or monthly maintenance. We’ll work with you (and your care team if needed) to find the best schedule for your needs and package budget.
Do you provide services in aged care homes or retirement villages?
Absolutely! We love supporting elderly clients wherever they are. However, residents in aged care facilities typically no longer have access to a Home Care Package (soon to be Support at Home), so the service would be privately funded. If you still have a HCP and Pro Therapist is onboarded with your provider, we can offer massage through government funding. And of course, private clients are just as welcome!
Do I need a referral from my doctor or case manager?
It depends. While a GP referral isn’t required by Pro Therapist, your Home Care Package provider may ask for one before approving remedial massage in your care plan. If you’re hoping to use your HCP, check with your Case Manager to see if a referral is needed. Private clients don’t need a referral, though it can be helpful in guiding your treatment. If you’re unsure whether massage is right for you, we recommend speaking with your GP or care provider.
What’s the difference between remedial massage and relaxation massage?
Remedial massage is a therapeutic treatment that targets specific muscular conditions or chronic issues such as arthritis, joint pain, or post-stroke immobility. It’s more clinical and results-focused than a general relaxation massage.
Will the transition from the HCP to Support at Home affect funding for Remedial Massage?
Yes, the Support at Home program will bring some changes to the way contributions are structured for remedial massage services. Right now, under the Home Care Package (HCP), remedial massage is fully covered, with clients potentially paying an income-tested fee towards the overall package.
Starting November 1st, 2025, the Support at Home program will require clients to contribute between 5% and 50% of the treatment fee, depending on their pension status. Full pensioners will pay just 5%, part pensioners will contribute between 5% and 50%, and self-funded retirees will pay 50%. More detailed calculations will be made by Aged Care. We recommend speaking with your service provider for information regarding your specific situation.
If you’re already receiving services under a HCP, these changes will not affect you in quite the same way. To understand how these updates apply to your specific situation, please reach out to your case manager – they will be able to help clarify any questions you may have.
